Pre-Game Rituals

Posted on: September 15, 2008 1:16 pm

I figured I'd give everyone a good starter topic that will hopefully bring to light some Buc fans pre-game rituals. Whether it be at home watching the game or heading into Raymond James on gameday.

I have a couple in particular one of which is the reason my blog is named what it is. Typically on game day home or away, I awake shower, and insantly put on my old school creamsicle Buc' O Bruce shirt I've had since I was kid. It is completely stretched out but is merely the undershirt to my gameday jersey, and the draft day hat from that years draft. I usually like to pick a single player's jersey and wear it for the entire season or until it has been deemed bad karma by several bad losses. During the Super Bowl run, I rocked Rhonde's jersey and Buc O' Bruce all the way to San Diego. After I get my game day gear on, if its a Home game as a season ticket holder, I'm at the stadium with my father. We have been going to games for over 20 years, since I was 5 years old. I don't have another official pre-game ritual until right before kick off. It doesn't matter if we are in bar in L.A., house in Chicago, or at Raymond James Stadium right as the kick off is kicked Me, My father, any other family members, and friends yell "Hit Them In The Mouth" for good luck for the Bucs. Its just something we've done for years now, and I think its a great way to set the tone for the start of a game, because its exactly what we as Bucs fans hope the Bucs do to their opponents, Smash Them Right In The Face on the way to victory. Well that is my pre-game ritual, if you have managed to keep reading this far, and haven't been bored to tears, I'd love to hear everyone elses pre-game rituals before Bucs games.

Hit'Em In The Mouth
