Cavs offer former alcoholic and drug-addict a full-time job and home after discovering the dulcet tones of his "golden voice."
Posted by Matt Moore

So there's this guy, Ted, in Cleveland. He's homeless, and has what he described as "a golden voice." He became quite the national story after this video, which displayed his soothing radio tones:

Well word trickled down to the Cavs organization, and seeing as how they're in need of some good karma after the past 12 months (as well as some good publicity), the Cavs did something pretty amazing. They offered Ted a full-time position as a supplementary PA guy with the Cavaliers as well as for other events at Quicken Loans arena... and they offered him a house.

So, that's pretty awesome. You can check out what it was like for Ted to find out about the offer live on the radio in the video below:

Homelessness is a serious problem in this country, I don't think I need to tell you that. And while helping Ted out is a wonderful thing for the Cavaliers to do, the bigger hope should be that this helps spark people to put more of their time and money into solving the homelessness issue in America. Even in tough economic times, the level of wealth we enjoy should grant us the opportunity to not have to seek out those with golden voices to save.

If I was homless I would surely take the job but I would pass on the house unless it was outside of the city of Cleveland!  Godd for him though, maybe this will bring light to the homeless problem this nation has.

Give me a break. What's the matter?  Do you need a job?  Are you jealous? Or maybe you are just an ass who can let the guy just be.  This is a great story.  If he blows his second chance that's on him, but at least the chain of events provided him the opportunity.  I suppose you would have just preferred he stay on the corner, homeless.  Someday that could be you.....Nice Vegas...nice.

P.S. - the guy is obviously intelligent, well spoken and talented.  He made mistakes and now is being shown mercy.  That is how it shold be more often.
