The Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers got into a skirmish at the end of their game Sunday that resulted in ejections for Lamar Odom, Ron Artest, Blake Griffin and Baron Davis. Posted by Ben Golliver.

The giant-killing Los Angeles Clippers did it again on Sunday, defeating the Los Angeles Lakers in the same week that they toppled the mighty Miami Heat. But the Clippers' victory wasn't without some endgame drama, as a skirmish broke out in the game's final seconds that resulted in four players being ejected.

During a Randy Foye free throw that gave the Clippers a 98-90 lead with less than six seconds remaining in the game, Clippers forward Blake Griffin shoved Lakers forward Lamar Odom underneath the basket as they jockeyed for rebounding position. Considering the game was already in hand, it was an unnecessary play by Griffin, but it's fairly understandable because Griffin doesn't have an off switch. He goes hard. Always.

After Foye's free throw went in the hoop, Odom grasped Griffin's jersey and swung him, and the two stared each other down. Clippers point guard Baron Davis raced into the scrum to separate the two combatants, leading Odom to give Davis a slight shove in return, which led to more jawing. Lakers forward Ron Artest then entered the fray, attempting to extricate Odom from the group from behind, to no avail. That led Artest to swing his arms out a bit in the general direction of Foye. Eventually, the referees were able to separate the two teams and complete the game's final six seconds.

When all was said and done, Odom, Artest, Griffin and Davis were all ejected from the game.

Back in December, Portland Trail Blazers point guard Andre Miller took exception to Griffin in a similar situation, as Miller was upset that Griffin shoved him in the back while attempting to gain rebounding position on consecutive plays. Miller retaliated by body-checking Griffin at full speed, which resulted in a fine and one-game suspension by the NBA.

After the game resumed, the Clippers held on for a 99-92 victory. With the win, the Clippers improved to 14-25 on the season. The Lakers dropped to 30-12.

Baron Davis looked like the instigator to me. Odom and Griffin were just staring at each other, and Griffin had his arms out as if to say he didn't do anything wrong. Davis came racing in from over 20' away and gave Odom a shove. If Davis had stayed away, the whole skirmish would not have started.

Man Odom is just a giant baby, how immature was that? Nobody really deserved to be thrown out but Odom, but at the end of the game its best just to throw everybody and their dog out, to avoid anything else happening.

I would agree. I think they figure with such little time left, and the game being over. It is just best to send them to the showers.

Watched the game on league pass on it seems to be over reaction by the ref's unless thety were worried about a fight as the teams walked off floor. Odom and Davis maybe deserved to be tosses, Artest was tossed on reputation. Odom anf the rest of the league need to lean that Blake Griffin play hard for 48 minutes unlike most players, Kobe never gives up and blake did not do anything to get his jersey pulled and thrown after that free throw. The lakers and phil jackson should be more concered that thir by lead in the 3rd quarter went away, this laker team is not the same one we have watched the last 2 years but with that being said they are still going to be dangerous come playoff time but Kobe need some help from his teammates. As far as i can see the refs made a lot out of a little double techs would have been fine and with jackson calling time out subs could have been made or all could have walked away.

Not too many dudes in the League with Baron's street cred
Then there sure are a lot of pretenders in the new WWF. Rigged games, bigger than life characters, good guys-bad guys, self promotion, chest thumping. Ink has simply replaced the feather boas worn by flambouant wrestlers of the '80's. The NBA is entertainment, not sport.

What a horrible piece of officiating. Not real surprising since horrible officiating is all the NBA provides. I guess maybe you give Odom a technical for the swing, but nothing was worthy of ejection.

Lakers, Clipper, NBA- what a product?!

What's the big deal? It wouldn't be an NBA game without a fight, skirmish, multiple selfish acts, one or less passes on offense, NO D, below 40% shooting, video game gestures, NO D, under 100 pts most games (which is mind boggling with the lack of D), stars sitting out with a sore ankle or hang nail, and as always... NO D! What a product!?

Lakers, Clippers skirmish leads to 4 ejections

hey digitalmamba, I wrote a comment here after watching the two videos contained in this article without reading any other post that people had written and then I read the posted threads from other people as I normally do to see how other posted threads compare to mine wether they agree or disagree. After reading yours I checked out the longhorn whom you were referring to and you are right, that guy definitely rode the short bus from kindergarten all the way through hi time at Texas! After watching those videos who in their right mind would call Griffin a Punk?  Griffin acted far and above his age and NBA experience while Odem was just acting like a sore loser because the mighty Lakers were going to lost to the Clippers.  Good call on that guy who doesn't care about the facts which were on video display for all to see.
