My second time....hmmm. Not bad at all....

Some random thoughts:

-----------------------------------
----

I know weather and global warming are two different things but today sure makes one wonder. Twenty-eight below zero F at 6 am with a wind chill of 45-50 below zero. Blowing, drifting snow. Misery index is off the charts here in Iowa. My solar cells are pumping out 20% of rated power despite the brilliant sun thanks to the ice crystals and wind. My Geothermal is still pumping at 56 degrees F. My new vertical wind turbine is running at rated power. Still the furnace is burning gas to keep up. My passive solar system is not producing as much heat as it normally does, probably due to the ice crystals and blowing snow.

-----------------------------------
----

I played truth or dare with my neice over Christmas, she's 14. She asked some humdingers. She asked a truth about my second time, ignoring the first altogether. Who remembers their second time? I had to give that some thought. When I did, I realized how much better it was than the first time (satisfaction wise) but funny, I really had to think hard about it! The power of a girls mind and her willingness to project fairytales over reality hid the truth.

-----------------------------------
---

Politically glad to see George Bush leave office. Not because I am against him but because I am tired of seeing him kicked around by our media, our politicians and our citizens. Truly a shame what people believe about him versus what is closer to reality. (see above passage)

-----------------------------------

Dogs don't like to go  outside when it is this cold. Could you imagine taking a pee in temps like this? Mine are using the front porch and nothing says welcome like a frozen yellow patch and well you know...

Peace!

You pick on Quayle for misspelling potato but you misspelled "Reagan" and "as."  Nice.

Actually the intelligence of both Quayle and Reagan is beyond argument.  As is Bush and Obama.  Your comments prove your ignorance.  You confuse disagreement with idiocy. Just because you disagree with people does not make them an idiot. The fact that you cannot consider another person's view without considering their points without reverting to flippant name calling proves your ignorance in the form of debate.  It does not mean you are an idiot (though the jury is out on that score).

An example....Obama proposes a tax break in the amout of $500 per year and he is smart.  Bush sent most of us $600-1200 last year and he is considered an idiot.  Dose that add up to you?

Your ignorance makes me say, "Wow!"

My second time....hmmm. Not bad at all....

After careful calculation, the meteorologists have concluded the temperature was -34F not -28 F.  A new all time record low regardless of the day.  This morning it is a balmy -28F but we are supposed to get to a high of +6F today and +17 tomorrow.  Get out the halter tops.....

I too have noticed the lowering of expectations for Obama.  Despite the euphoric cressendo of the media hype prior to the election, I have hoped Americans didn't take it all as fact, because there is no way Obama will deliver on his promises.  The deck is stacked against him.

Even Obama realizes he is in for it.  The loyal Dems are already starting to revolt on their own personal hot button issues, especially on the Obama stimulus package.   I heard Boehner (R) yesterday in response to the Obama plan.  Quote:   "Oh ..... My.......God!"  He did not intend for it to sound Valley Girl-ish, but it did a little.

Objective journalism?  Please.....

Anyway....I have my pots spread all over the property to catch the money as it rains down from the treasury.  Thanks Barack!

Three cheers for Truth or Dare... If we are playing, I'm in... Anyway, it's 8 degrees in Atlanta (with the wind) and the best way to tackle that is with a fresh pot of chili... I can't disclose the secrets of my chili, I'll just tell you that it starts with ground turkey and gets better from there... So... I'm lucky that my dog has a passion for acorns or else I'd have a (excuse the term) mess on my porch as well... I love the cold weather... For some reason, it makes me think better but more than that, it reminds me of how good I have it on the worst of my days... With all the homeless people in the world having to go to bed hungry and cold, I have no problems...

First, second and most of the times I remember... I wasn't keeping score or anything, I just remember... Reflection is nice... The first time wasn't everything it was supposed to be and the second wasn't anything like the first... In fact, none of them are like the others... We should strive to make it that way...

"W"... I voted for him and I'm none the worse for it... I didn't vote for Obama, but according to my friends that did, I can still sit back and wait for the money to pour from the sky... Face it... We are still going to be at war, the economy is still going to drag and those people out in the cold are still going to be cold...

In closing I'd like to give a shout out to The Florida Gators, BCS Champions !!!

Hi Av.  Hope all is well, despite the cold

Did you say 28 below?  Are you serious?  Hang in there.  Days are getting longer at least, and before you know it you'll be hitting that little white (or do prefer some other color) ball around the course again.

Yeah, the second time was nice, and the third, fourth, and hopefully the 1,234th time will be terrific too.

Even worse than watching the media bang Bush around like no tomorrow is how they have already started to make excuses for anticipated Obama ineffectiveness.  Where has objectivity in journalism gone.

A balmy -8 about 20 years ago I peed on my frozen car lock at the train staition.  It wasn't easy or pleasant, but at least it got me into my car.  You better believe I was careful not to let my precious skin touch that frozen lock.  lol

See ya around.

So glad to see you back.  I understand after seeing the post why you haven't been here in a while.  They weren't men but boys.  Trust me on that! Hope to see more of you on the message boards!

Sunny and warm if not a hot 85 in LA today.  Love it!!

AV - Liked your blog.  I have a 4 year old daughter and the thought of her becoming a teen already scares me.  The thoughts of those thoughts just aren't kosher from a daughter.  It is best for the entire country to have George out of office because he can no longer be the scape goat.  And I don't care what side of the fence you're on politically, but it has to be a good feeling seeing the entire world react positively to Obama's victory.
