It's going be an Interesting season for AL West, Angels and Rangers are better teams. Which is saying something since both team won over 86 games this last season, I expect it be an lot closer race and there no doubt that Angels and Ranger would finish 1st or 2nd in the standings. The only question is who going to be the 3rd place team

I cant remember the last time the Angels had this kind of talent...Heck, they dont even have room for Mike Trout and Mark Trumbo...I hope they keep Hunter around but I think Abreu's days are numbered...Trumbo at 3rd base doesn't sound like an exciting defense but I figure if anyone can make it work it's Scioscia.

I still think it's a shame that he left St. Louis. He could have gotten more championships with their organization while continuing his great offfield contributions to society.
I wish him all the best as he is professional and without arrogance.
A Toronto Bluejay fan

I don't wish albert the best. He would have had everything in St. Louis and would have eventually supplanted Stan Musial as the greatest Cardinal ever. But that wasn't enough. He had to chase the cash and heal his bruised ego. albert is now just another mercenary, just another hired gun. Enjoy your pile of cash albert.

I can certainly understand all the issues Cards fans have with Pujols leaving, but you really have to start putting at least some of the blame on the franchise. You don't let a player of his caliber come close to free agency, if you do, you risk this happening to your club. Identify your franchise players and sign them long term, regardless of the cost. Maybe it was all about the Benjamins, maybe it wasn't....I tend to believe it was more about respect then dollar figures.

Listen folks. The man just turned 32 ( most believe he is 35-36 ) but, we don't know for sure. He has a bad elbow, shoulder and he was having knee issues at the tail end of last year. So, the people out here that say that the Card's fans should blaim management is just garbage. I was nervous that management would fall into the trap the Angels have fallin into. Don't get me wrong, we would have loved to see him retire here but not for the price that LA paid. His best years are behind him and my kids got to see that! Good Luck Albert, your the man!

Its a shame Albert is not with the Cardinals but that ship has sailed. As a Cardinal Fan I am excited to get the Season Started. Albert is no longer on this Team and we should be focusing on our Players. We have a strong Lineup. When Craig is back with us in May we will be Strong from 1 Through 7
1.Furcal
2. Craig
3. Beltran
4. Berkman
5.Holliday
6. Molina
7. Freese
Our Pitching is alreday upgraded with Wainwright. Top three are very good
1. Wainwright
2. Carpenter
3. Garcia
Our number 4 Pitcher Loshe is prefect in the number 4 slot
Bull Pen strong and has young arms and Motte is our Closer
I think this Team is stronger then last Years World Championship Team. We have to wait and see but this could be another Great Year. As Cardinal Fans all we hear is what about Injuries on this Team. Well no other Team has to worry about Injuries, just the Cards?

of course he's focused on his job look how much he makes on a per game basis (approx 156,790), that is ridiculous money. Pro athletes are all way overpaid, yes even considering Albert's talent. IMO the angels will love him the first half of his contract, but hate him on the second. I feel really bad for the Cards organization & their fans, he was everything to them :(

Albert should have 2-3 seasons left at prime production if he stays healthy. That is the key, Alberts body has already started to break down. Plus if you saw the interview Albert does look older than his age. The last five years of this deal will not be good for the Angels.
Surprised they did not go hard after Prince Fielder. They probably could have signed him for less than Detroit did and saved 50 million. Plus Prince is 5 years younger than Albert.

im a 30 year cardinal fan and I have no worries. The pitching is above average as is the hitting. I love Albert but he wasn't the team last year. Even when he struggled they won and played well. I also wish him the best. The cards will win the division NOT because I'm a fan and blind, but because the have the most talent in a somewhat weak division.

I'm a Cards fan since the 1960's. LOVED Albert- still do. I don't "blame" anyone, it's the nature of today's game. I'm disappointed, wishing he would have spent his entire career here, even if he went downhill from here, but that didn't happen. I hope he breaks every record possible out there, as he's a class act who always gave the Cards his best. Wish him nothing but the best. Meanwhile, I still live and die for my Cards. I think Cinci and Milwaukee will be tough and the Pirates keep getting better. Reds have a great lineup, but pitching questions beyond Cueto. Brewers have great pitching but will miss Fielder greatly, and probably Braun for 50 games. Cards ARE old, but get back Wainwright, Carp is still hanging, and Garcia is a year older. Don't think we can get THAT big a year from Big Puma again, but hopefully Holliday will be better. Mostly, Cards need health all year and they'll contend. Good luck Albert. Good luck Radbirds!
