Albers didn't help bard out.what blows me away Statguy is the #$#$@% fact that he gives up a 3 run homer to the first batter he sees THEN he gets the outs
Bounties, blood clots and golf are the big story makers today. Maybe Valentine will put a bounty on Beckett, he'll get hit with a golf club and develop a blood clot and thus never pitch for the Sox again?
For the Sox fans, sorry to hear of the passing of Carl Beane who became the voice of Fenway just as they went on their way to reversing the so called "curse" of the Bambino. Even though he might not have reached legendary status in the bigs, just being the voice of Fenway for their first championship seasons in nearly 90 years is something no one can ever take away from him.
Middlebrooks back in the lineup tonight I see. That kid looks like he'll be quite the ball player for the Sox in the coming years.
I've been saying the same thing for quite a while now Stats. Amazing how much of a different hitter he is since they've signed him. Even in his first season he was a good "hitter" who could spray the ball all over the entire field and keep his average at a respectable level. Now, he's just a power pull hitter that are a dime a dozen. He's hitting around .215 now, that's pathetic for $22 million a year.
Sorry 25 ha ha. Just that Teix has been driving me nuts the past few years, he's definitely not the player the Yanks overpaid for. I think he got sucked in by the short right field wall at the Stadium, kinda threw him off his batting style and he hasn't been able to recover. Don't get me wrong, I'll take his 30/100 every year but I'd trade a few less HRs for more hits in the clutch and an average close to 300 instead of one close to 240. It's just frustrating knowing what he has done, what he is capable of while watching him ground into double plays and hit into the shift every at bat.
Tough outing for Robertson tonight. Tough losing like that against division teams.
