I'm one of those who watched the movie and instantly went to the "Baseball Encyclapedia: to verify that "Moonlight" did in fact exist. We know for sure that Costner loves baseball and I thought both his films were good.
yam-costner did 3 baseball movies. i dislike bull durham and noot laloosh or whatever his name was, was so idiotic, his windup wouldn't get me out in a wiffleball game! so silly. so he hits the record HR and quits the team? nice teammate and those 2 guys are tagging the same old skanky broad? ugh. no thanks. a terrible set of bad examples to put on a young baseball fan. no thanks.
costner's last movie "for the love of the game" was 2 stories in 1. sappy at times, but overall, a decent flick.
hawk-i got so many books to read, i can't take on another one.
any plans for the 4th anyone? it sucks its on a wed this year. i can't take off thur or friday either. dont have that much time. i have 9 vacation days left this year, but they accrue at 7.34 hrs a paycheck, so i didn't earn them yet. previously jan 1 we got all of our time in 1 shot. terrible.
yeah hold off on that one for a while, you saw the movie, you know what it is about
107 for the high here in St L today predicted, add in the humidity and you have a day to stay inside, praying for the homeless and those guys who work outside, sheesh, and the fires, saw some pics, wow, can't imagine, what a devastation. We just do not get the precipitation that we used to in this country, yet they keep saying the ice caps are melting, etc...where is all that water going?
I agree, July 4 on a Wed really just means I will sleep late, likely do chores around the house. Due to the dryness here there are contemplations of not having the fireworks displays due to catching stuff on fire. I even watered my grass, which is something I rarely do. If it isn't hot as blazes I will cook on the grill. The last few years though it has rained on July 4, so maybe we will get some rain I hope.
I did not see For the love of the game...might have to check it out. I remember The Postman (wasn't great, but have seen worse) and what was that water movie he did? It wasn't super bad like everyone said, again not the greatest, but have seen worse.
the movie is 2 movies in one. it's how he met his on and off again girlfriend and then goes backwards to their story and forwards to him pitching in a real game at the tail end of his HOF Career.
All I know is love him or hate him, he was awesome in the mini=series the Hatfields and McCoys.
107 - yikes that's hot. Hawk-if you have pets, please bring them indoors.
Work in the field all day today Cat and it was an extremely typicllate Junr day in the desert. It was hot in aht AM, a little hotter mid morning and freakin Africa hot all afternoon. There was a breeze betwe en 3 PM and 3:07 so it wasn't totally brutal.
It was so hot poor Yam couldn't even spell, hahahaha
Yeah we did a river float trip yesterday and I decided to keep my shirt on for most of it cause a wet shirt kept me cool. Fried everyone else though...and looks like no end in sight. Polar ice caps are surely melting in this heat. It's 90 already and it's 10:30 am here.
90's all week. i got the ac on and a half day on tuesday on the company and on friday on me and off wed. got tons of food and booZe too. it's going to be a good week for the catfish and Tux the cat ! be safe all.
hawk ---with your white skin, you needed that shirt. good move.
hey we might get below 100 today, will have to see, didn't know I moved to Texas, but yeah get the AC on, just hope lots of power outages get resolved quickly
yeah, I was smart, didn't take that shirt off, did a bit I guess, but not for long, am just fine while others got toasted
The ASG in KC next week is going to be insane for those folks, way too hot.
office closing at 3 today. thank god. being off tomorrow couldn't come fast enough. almost went postal yesterday. didn't get that other job either bc they said my personality wasn't a fit for their team. after seeing what slobs they were and how disorganized they were, they knew by talking to me i would've ran circles around them! unreal.
the search goes on....
so frustrating. applied to 6 jobs last week-not 1 response. boo.
keep the faith my friend, there is a great job out there for you, happy 4th, being in Philly I imagine since that is really the birthplace of America that your celebrations are pretty cool.
the fireworks over the art musuem where rocky ran up the steps is always cool and the ones on penn's landing.
jobs...just sucks. i lost the killer job that i had 2 interviews with bc my personality they said was not a fit for their team. basically their offices were a huge mess and when they asked me about the office i told them what i saw, so then they knew i was too good for them. ugh,.
blazing hot out. unfit for men, beast, woman, child, elder, tux the cat for this catfish. it had to be 90 at 8 am this morning. ugh. praying for cooler temps. be safe all.
hope everyone had a safe 4th. saw a story of a yacht tipping over in ny killing 3 people and 2 were kids. the boat had fireworks on it. very sad.
