I dont get the snubs either..
BB,

I'd like to see the breakdown on colleges and what players are sent to see if there is any favorites played in conferences and certain schools.

NCAA football is a friggin cash machine...

Ironman,,

yeah - interesting anough - they invited the OG from MidWestern State Amini Silatolu - whom I like and really want see - glad he'll be there...   but how the heck can they not invite the FS Aaron Henry from Wisconsin?    or Brandon Brooks OG Miami(O)  who both are rated near the top 100 players overall in this draft class?

That's what makes me think there is some kind of bias, or preferential treatment at the very least.

The only other question would be, who decides the top 300 players in this draft class?

Is it the AP, coaches, players, fans?

If anything I'd rather they skipped over this guy too. The more I read about him the more I think he'll be a stud as an OG in our system. Would have liked to see him fly under the radar a bit more to insure that he'd be available in rounds 3 or 4. I have a feeling that he is going to wow them at the combine which may place him in that liminal stage between our first and second picks. Glenn keeps getting talked up to the point where he may not be sitting there at 24. If that's the case, I'd like Hightower at that spot. All the more reason to have Silatolu as an option in the later rounds.

I've been wondering what you guys think about what the Steelers would do with an extra 1st round pick? Possibly trade one of them back or package both and move up for a guy? I wouldn't mind turning one into more picks later on.

Unless they are close to 100% sure that they are trading up for Troy like player..  I'm always in favor of moving back and gaining picks...

Agreed bb. Unless it is a Kahil, Blackmon, or maybe even DeCastro no one is worth moving up for.

Would you guys rather see the Steelers resign Mike Wallace long term or pick up a FA like Mario Manningham, Pierre Garcon, or Laurent Robinson and get a late round draft pick?

I want Wallace re-signed, that's my first choice. If not, I wouldn't totally freak out if the 49ers got him and they got the 30th pick, losing Wallace would hurt but I don't think THAT much. I personally think Laurent Robinson would be a nice under the radar signing that they wouldn't have to overpay for like the other two guys would need.

Regardless of what happens with Wallace, the guy I still want is Marvin McNutt in the 4th.

I would hate to lose Mike Walace but it would be exciting to have two first round picks plus be able to pickup a FA receiver.

well we can eliminate ESPN and Mel Krapper, his list is better suited to being crumpled up hiking in the woods, then used an hour after ingesting some fibrous berries.

Wink

When it comes to picking in the first, look at it this way. Konz, Hightower are the BEST at their position. You always want to upgrade your team with the best. Glenn won't be there and he is the  second best OG, and may end up being a better RT down the road.

I like Konz but it just makes me a little nervous drafting a guy who has never actually played the position of guard.

I agree beach, Hightower was the safest pick. You watch Vontaze Burfict is the next Vernon Gholston or Mike Mamula. Also I like Hightower over Kuechly for what it's worth. Round two, maybe Ta'Mau if he Is there at 56. Update us with the mock tracker if you can. I Am very high on Bobby Wagner, he is about Harrisons size and very disruptive.

If the Steelers do draft Konz, where would they look to place him - left or right guard? And would there be any chance of moving Pouncey to RG and placing Konz at Center?

If the Steelers get an extra pick in the 1st round for Wallace, I would love to see them get Glenn and Konz.

I'm not sure if Glenn can play left guard but a line of Gilbert-Glenn-Pouncey-Konz-Colon would be intriguing.

If the Steelers have 2 picks in the 1st round they will most likely trade one of them to get additional picks in later rounds.
