Sure I do.  Just feeling a bit of a wisenheimer today.  Not sure how much time I have to devote for it.  The schedule is gonna change here shortly cause I just got promoted to superviser at work and come June 11, I'll be working dayshift Monday thru Friday.  Get to have a real life again like the rest of you.  Not sure how many hours I'll need to put in at work.  And then I've got activities for the kids on weekends, especially in the summer.  You throw in re-doing our landscaping as well as running 2-3 fantasy leagues and another 3-4 more leagues I'm in and I don't have a ton of time.  But whatever you think I can help with.......

Well Duff I would love for everyone who commits to this to really consider this their second job until it becomes thier first and to truly devote all their heart and passion into making this the number one ranked fantasy football site in the world one day, soon. But half a Duff is better than no Duff. Our goal should be to become number 1 period. And I fully believe we have the talent, heart and love for the game enough to more than accomplish that goal. DUB I send it to you.

Fantasy football prognostication is quite the fickle business with a million different views and quite a large level of competition.  Sorry, but it won't be my second job.  My first job is where I earn my paycheck and my second job is my family and my family will always come before my paycheck if needed.

But half a Duff is better than no Duff

I can give you what time allows, for now.  When and if this idea takes off, I'll be glad to devote more time to it.

On another note:

I think you need to take inventory on what kind of "specialties" or what strengths each of us would bring to the table.  I mean, we all have the general knowledge and can rank our players every year based on whatever scoring system is in place.  But what makes each of us unique for this project or what do we each have more experience in?  Also, what are things that each of don't cover well or don't have much experience with?  It would just be kind of silly to have all of us prattling away about the same things like we do here.  Why would anybody go to our site when they can get the same discussions on just about any fantasy football chatboard around?  You kind of have to identify what areas we could cover well and what might be able to do differently than everybody else.  Personally, I hardly see much in the way of dynasty info in magazines or web-sites, other than a slightly different player ranking draft sheet.

For example:

 I started playing FF in 1986 and this will be my 27th year of playing.  For the past 23 years, my league I started in 1986 has been a dynasty league.  Ranking players for a dynasty league is a whole different animal than for a re-draft league.  Trade values are also slightly different since you have to consider such things as length of fantasy contracts with a team, player age,  etc.  So I could probably say that I have a pretty good handle on dynasty league issues.   

My lack of knowledge and experience is in the area if IDP leagues and the ranking of IDP players.  I played in one IDP league for 2 years.  It got to be just a tad too much handling the usual offensive starters and then another 11 defensive starters every week as well as a 12-man bench.  I've got a good general knowledge on who are some top defensive players in the NFL.  However, that doesn't always translate into top fantasy defensive stats.  Some of the better fantasy defensive players are on bad defenses and make tons of tackles.  Regardless, I'm more familiar and comfortable with the Team Defense concept.

I'm happy to help out with higher-level ideas (how to drive traffic to the site, what kind of content will help the site stand out and what isn't worth it, when to respect licensing and copyright issues, etc), contribute ideas for competitions, and provide some statistical analysis.

As those Nike/Tiger Woods ads said, "Just do it."

I'm in (if invited Foot, you jerk) and I already know what part I want to be involved with. Most of us will remember this but I say me and Foot have a "Point/Counterpoint" Weekly............................h

All I know is to do this project we are talking a lot of work digging down the rabbit hole to make a full functing website.  A lot of work....But look at it like this NFL just started their fantasy league stuff just last season and they are lacking big time in a lot of areas just as the other sites are.  So I'm confused on is this a league site idea with also great information.  Or is it a nitch site with games/ideas/product stuff for commish's to use to better their leagues and of course great info.  Or is it just a great info. site.

That was 3 option thoughs for those following along to my typing on the lap top as I just got in my shoulder workout and 30 min jog on the treadmill....off to make a protein shake.....Mmmm protein!

First off let me say congrats to Monkey as I meant to say that originally but got completly wrapped up in this. So congrats Monkey that is awesome she said yes.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         Next DUb - DUB you are a champion so i know you can relate. I want to make a site that does everything you mentioned. A site that people can join and build their leagues in. A site where we could provide the ultimate fantasy football product which would include all the things you metioned and probably a thousand new ideas. A site that will contsantly be growing both in users and in ideas and services it can offer. Your point about how the NFL is just now starting to notice how big fantasy football is was a tremendous one. The moon is aligned and the timing couldn't be more perfect. i am talking destiny here guys for 12 or 13 of us that have all been brought together to do something great than ourselves. Something I know we all are extreamily passionate about and love. It will be a process so we will have to start somewhere. i suggest we start as a information site where we could bring the MBBRL.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        We could also keep up on the CBS boards but we will only post our ranking and our exclusives on our site. I am not saying we have to take over the world in a day. We get it started and then let it take on a life of it's own. Like I was saying we could keep it simple at first and then evolve it into a site with it's own game center and with cool new game systems like the one Wil and I made and we could have tools like the cool one you are createing.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 And don't worry about the computer stuff i am not going to host the thing in my basement. We will use a sever based company to host our site. Even if we get 10,000,000 hits a day they can handle it. It just a small monthly fee I am talking peanuts so stop worrying about that. The point is it will be our own site to push down the hill and see how big the snowball can get. I am picturing each one of us with our own daily or weekly column. then we could have a thing called the round table or something which will be where anwer question and interact with each other and with fans of the site. The point is it can be what ever our imaginations want it to be. And with you guys I don't see a ceiling.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           Duff I think you have a good idea and that we should each decide for ourselves where each one of our strengths and weakness are. i know i have no weaknesses (half kidding). But honestly Duff i think in order for this to work we need to keep as positive as eye on the price as posible. You don't have to put this site before your family or before the means in which you support them. This site could be really something great and quite effortlessly to if done right. I personally plan on devoting every free second I can until it feels like work. That's the point. This is fun and if you can turn something you love to do for fun into something you can make a living at then my freind you are doing what God intended you to do along. and don't get caught up on weakness it will bring you down. Passion for something will almost certainly always conquer any weakness. Every MBBRL member is invited to partake in this and so is monkey. If there is someone else outside our group that would like to be a part of this they would have to demonstrate that they could bring something special to the and unique to the site. It would have to be voted on by the current members. Once we are up and running and if we can get to a respectable number of daily hits ( a few million) along with some serious paying advertising customers then at that point we could think about posibly opening up a center and hiring a staff. All of whom would be working for us, ha ha. But that is down the road a ways. For now let's take te rest of this month to see who else from our league wants to be in. Then we will officially registar the site and get it up an running. In the meantime we should start kicking around some great site names. Potential Site Names:

i think alliteration may be the key here. something that people can remember. agree that fantasy football needs to be in it (or something of that nature) or serach engines will push us down too far on the results.

fantasyfootball4life.com (or 4ever, 4real, or spell out the word 'for' etc)
famousfantasyfootball.com (fantasyfootballlfame) 

or even something simple like fantasyfootballMBBRL.com

football could even be reduced to 'FB' in any of the mentioned titles, but not sure what that would do to our search recognition. 

and i definitely think that offering the game that was invented on these boards (and subsequent variations) could be our niche. Personally, I havent come across any sites that offer anything similar to that nature. I have seen some games like this tho:

people pick players each week that they think will hit certain thresholds (300yds pass/100yrds rushing or receiving) and you get points based off if you get them right or not. At the end of the season, you see who has the most points.

We could add in something like, who is going to have multiple TDs that week (at least 3 for QBs--and possible RBs-- and 2 for WRs TEs).




But in all reality, we should be having in depth, detailed discussions elsewhere (start an email chain and everyone can 'reply all' for each of their messages) so as to protect our intellectual property rights.

Wil - although my dream was to marry a a doctor or lawyer and become a stay at home dad, i went with a teacher, so we are delaying our honeymoon since she will be starting her school year a couple of weeks before the wedding. there may be a 10-14 day football hiatus for me over xmas break, but fantasy is usually winding down around then.
